Dubai Millennium is our top rated Dubai World Cup winner and one of our favourite horses of the last fifteen years.

By Seeking the Gold out of Colorado Dancer (Shareef Dancer) he won nine of his ten races, including the 2000 Dubai World Cup.

Dubai Millennium has a GR rating of 141 along with Dancing Brave, Seattle Slew and Shergar.

Bred by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and owned by Godolphin, Dubai Millennium won his three races as a two year old and ended the year by topping the two year old international classifications.

In 1999 he started 5-1 favourite in the Derby but finished well behind Oath out of the places.

In 2000 he absolutely dominated the Dubai World Cup in a way not seen before, winning by 6 lengths but his winning time of 1 minute 59.50 seconds was even more remarkable.

After the Dubai World Cup, Dubai Millennium won the Prince of Wales Stakes at Ascot by eight lengths.

During his career he also won the Prix Jacques Le Marois and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, both Group One.

Tragically he fractured a leg on the gallops and was retired to stud. Even more tragically, Dubai Millennium died in April 2001 of grass sickness.

His son Dubawi came fifth in the 2005 2000 Guineas.
