The World Thoroughbred Rankings
Gladiatorus, the winner of the 2009 Dubai Duty Free, has been announced as the world’s top rated horse, according to The World Thoroughbred Rankings.
His win at Nad Al Sheba in March 2009 ensured his top place on the list with a rating of 127.
Well Armed, the six-year-old son of Tiznow, shared second place with 2008 Group One Hong Kong Mile winner Good Ba Ba.
Other prominent entries on the list include Presvis, ranked 120 (who followed up his big effort on Dubai World Cup night with an impressive win at Sha Tin – the Group One Audemars Piguet QE II Cup) and Godolphin’s Alexandros, narrowly defeated in the recent Group One Juddmonte Lockinge.
Gloria De Campeao, second behind Well Armed in March went on to claim his first Group One win with the Singapore Airlines International Cup, taking his rating to 120, along with Dubai International Carnival graduate J J The Jet Plane.
Following close behind with a rating of 119 is Dubai’s Big City Man, the winner of the 2009 Dubai Golden Shaheen, as well as Albertus Maximus, Kip Deville and Japan’s mare Vodka, who demolished her rivals in the recent Victoria Mile in Tokyo.
